Ach Ach Liebling is the accidental brainchild of Joanna Petrone, a wordsmith, plasticsmith and metalsmith with a degree in literature from Stanford University and training in the jewelry arts from the Revere Academy.

Some sources of inspiration in drawing up designs have included: all Fassbinder movies, Berlin, The Switchblade Sisters, old postcards, anonymous portraits, Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, E.M. Forrester, classical archeology, Victorian print culture, railroads, clouds, candy, love letters and bullfights. Along with hidden treasures, secrets, beauty that's a little off-beat, fantasy, and private hideaways.

Begun in 2006 with a focus on plastics and thematic assemblages, the Ach Ach Liebling line continues to grow in size and scope, but the driving core—her heart, that engine-- doesn't waver. Ach Ach Liebling remains committed to following peculiar visions while being unmoved by trends.
