Here at Moxsie we've got scores of blogs and sites that we frequent on the regular. For our more street-savvy stylings, MISS Omni Media tops that list. We were ecstatic that Co-Founder and Editor in Chief Gabriella Davi-Khorasanee could find the time in her busy schedule to kick off our first guest blog series. Scroll on to discover Gabriella's take on preparing for spring with Moxsie!
Several times a year, the fashion world gathers in hubs across the world to see the new collections and decree what will be hot in six months’ time. Without fail, trends pop up in many collections – some are seasonal mainstays like plaid in the fall. Others have more to do with what’s “in the air”, i.e., going on in pop culture or in society.
The big trends for Spring 2010 include minimalism, florals, and military styles. Luckily, you can be on trend with just a few updates to your wardrobe – and you can do it all on Moxsie!
Less Is More - Minimalism
Minimalism is a classic look that has a resurgence every few years. The misconception about minimalism is that it’s masculine or boring – and nothing can be farther from the truth. Minimalism is one of my favorite looks because the clothing lets the person wearing them shine – not the other way around.
Some of my favorite minimalist pieces on Moxsie that prove how sexy minimalism can be are Everyday or Eternal’s Lori Cut Out Tunic and Lamixx’s Off the Shoulder Dress. A little hint of shoulder can go a long way in letting the imagination run.
If you like to dress a with more pizzazz, you can always go with simple accessories with clean lines like Skinny Vinny’s Totara Tote Bag. Whatever way you decide to wear it, spring is definitely the time for “less is more.”
