Men's Fashion Week wrapped up a couple of weeks ago, and in the meantime we've finally gotten a chance to catch up on the top men's style bloggers. (Steady blog reading takes work, people!) With our powers combined, we present: Moxsie's Men's Forecast for 2010! (You can always revisit our take on Women's style for 2010 here.)
WORKING HARD, HARDLY WORKING | While it's key that you have the basics - well-fitted shirt, slacks, and jacket - we're going to see men's style shift more toward looser, business casual. Leisure moves in on otherwise formal territory with basic colors but more ready-to-wear pieces.
WELL EQUIPPED | Accessories are often overlooked when it comes to men's style editorial, but maybe that's because they make the mistake of thinking you already have the key essentials. Another misconception is that in order to be a well-dressed man, you have to focus on the clothes. Not true. It's just as much about what fills your pockets and how you carry your goods as it is about how your threads hang on your body.
POLISHED STREET | There are many variations to the concept of polished street style, but what it comes down to is the details in your wares. A polished, street style-savvy man is not averse to surprise embellishments, but he is mindful that they be subtle deviations from the norm.
Side note: If you like having your jaw dropped, see Refinery29's 6 Most Outrageous Moments at Men's Fashion Week. Spot-on, R29, for calling out Vivienne Westwood for being too "Derelicte."
So cool. So cute. Supers and Mimocos are our fastest sellers, so better claim yours quickly. (Valentine's Day gift, perhaps?)
