Unsatisfied with what stores and boutiques had to offer in the line of fashionable yet sustainable women’s clothing, founder Christine Marchuska was inspired to create a collection that would meet both her socially-conscious standards and her desire for affordable high fashion. In her search for chic green clothing Christine found primarily shapeless t-shirts, yoga clothing and high priced dry-clean only dresses. None of the eco-friendly clothing lines carried versatile pieces such as dresses that could be worn with a jacket to the office and then paired with a different pair of shoes for the perfect night out.

Because of this, Christine Marchuska identified a significant fashion need to create stylish and classic eco-friendly clothing for socially conscious individuals through the clothing line, cmarchuska. Born and raised in upstate New York, Christine attended Cornell University. After graduation, she moved to the big apple, New York City, to pursue a career in finance. After six years on Wall Street Christine decided it was time for a change and enrolled in several sewing and fashion courses in New York’s garment district. In November 2008, cmarchuska was born and now Christine’s time is spent roaming around the garment district and networking with the fashion crowd. When Christine is not comparing buttons and fabric blends, she enjoys time with her friends in her favorite cities, New York and Los Angeles.
