While the design and manufacture is always local, Commonwealth Proper has taken to a global search for the freshest fabrics. Enter Japanese Micro cotton. Each shirt from this series has a distinct “micro” pattern within a pattern, an extension of the Japanese culture’s infatuation with the small.
Philadelphia lawyer, Craig Arthur von Schroeder, spent a year designing and re-designing a shirt that cures the infamous “Muffin Top” effect – the uncouth look of excess fabric bunching up along the waist of most men’s tucked-in shirts. The end result is nothing short of extraordinary. All shirts are hand-made in the U.S. and feature a re-enforced placket and double-fused collar to give structure to a man’s defining features.
