Brand co-founders and designers Ashley Dimes and Laura Marie launched Dimepiece in 2007. The brand's name referred to its audience of women who were a '10' in every category: looks, expression and personality. Positive messaging was incorporated too, with particular emphasis on accommodating feminine curves rather than the heroin chic that dominates LA's rag trade.
