Sister duo Mackenzie Burdick and Rachael Mann are the hedonistic, flamboyant pair behind Litter, a San Francisco based brand that’s taken the city by storm.

Mackenzie originally started making jewelry out of nuts and bolts from the hardware store, creating inspired, photogenic looks. Rachael was sold on the concept, and her participation brought a softer, feminine touch, as the two scoured flea markets and vintage costume jewelry stores for their inspiration. The brand Litter was born as they turned discarded objects into directional jewelry, focusing on innovative pieces that adorned the body in new ways

For the sisters, nothing made is premeditated, as building blocks for any piece often go through a stream of consciousness process and evolution that keeps the loyal fan-base hungry for limited edition pieces. The brand offers jewelry for shoes, ears, the body and beyond. There’s little rest for the wickedly creative, as the duo plan to expand the collection and launch a t-shirt line in upcoming seasons.
